Celebrate Local Music at ‘JP Music Festival’
In the past decade, there has been a growing movement of people around the nation that have shifted to buying and appreciating local goods. Farmers markets, art markets and crafts fairs are examples emporiums that sell locally crafted products. Local music should be appreciated the same way as locally produced goods because it is a reflection of the talent that has originated in a region. JP Music Festival is a great event coming at the end of August that showcases local music.
Jamaica Plain is a town ten miles west of Waltham. The town has a diverse collection of talented musical performers that commonly tour local venues around Massachusetts and the Greater New England area. On August 20, all of the bands from Jamaica Plain and the surrounding area will come together for a day of music, dancing and celebration of local music at JP Music Festival.
JP Music Festival is an entire day of musical performances from over 20 local bands. The bands will come from a wide assortment of musical genres that includes rock n’ roll, jazz, basement rock, alternative and folk. Each band will bring a unique sound that would suit anyone that loves new age and classic rock n’ roll. The festival will run from 1pm to 7pm at Pinebank Baseball Fields near Jamaican Pond.
General admission into the concert is free and the commute to the event is only thirty minutes from The Ridge. If you are a fan of local goods and talent, come out to JP Music Festival. The concert would be a great way to celebrate local talent from around the Boston area and learn about new bands starting to hit the music scene.
